Mir Bahmanyar holds a BA in History from UC Berkeley, then enlisted in the Second Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and earned an MA in War Studies from King's College London. His jobs have included library clerk, janitor, bookstore owner, security services, military technical advisor, German language coach, producer and writer in Hollywood. He has authored numerous books and articles from ancient history to modern war. His work has been translated into Arabic, German, Japanese, Polish, and Spanish and has featured on several US Army reading lists. His special interests are the Punic Wars, WWII Darby's Rangers and Future War. Holding dual US and Canadian citizenship, he lives in Toronto.
